Cranberries Austral Chile began in 1993 with a mission to effectively explore the production and commercialization of the Chilean cranberry industry both for optimum quality and to instill good agricultural, industrial, and commercial practices, and has since become known for clean production conditions. Nowadays, the company produces cranberries on its farm property, located in Casma, Frutillar, with a planted area of 95 hectares (85 hectares in production). The annual output reaches 1500 tons. As part of the company's research, it has developed a cooperative agreement to work with Rutgers University, obtaining very good results for the development of new varieties and improvements in farming and fruit production.
